Machine Safeguarding

Virtually any type of machine used in industry today- lathes, mills, shears, punches and more- can cause horrific, life-altering and even fatal injuries almost instantly. Proper machine safeguards, training employees in their use- even wearing the right clothing when operating machinery- can make the difference between a normal workday and tragedy. Machine Safeguarding will help everyone detect and correct safeguarding deficiencies- some obvious but many not- and make sure that employees don't become statistics.


Employees, ask yourselves...

• Are the necessary guards, shields and/or emergency shutoffs installed on my machine?

• Are electrical connections secure and is the machine properly grounded?

• Just how many ways could I be injured or even killed by the machine that I use every day?

• Do you make sure that your employees are properly dressed- no loose-fitting clothing or jewelry?
• Have your employees been properly trained regarding the safety features of their machines?
• Are safeguards reinstalled after machine maintenance has been performed?
• Is there a periodic inspection of all machines to make sure all safeguards are in place?
• Are you prepared to deal with the consequences of an employee being injured or even killed due to machine safeguard issues?
